• Self-harm and suicide


• He can talk about it fleetingly, ie he can refer to the fact that he has been suicidal before, but going any deeper than that or coming up against something that feels too close to acting on it (like slicing his arm open for Alex) will trigger him. He cannot purposely harm himself; he will freeze up instead, no matter how dire the need for it.


• Waking up in a place where he did not fall asleep


• This one goes back to his father's "survival training," where he'd wake up in the middle of the woods with nothing on him but a map and a knife and have to make his way home. It always happened without warning and is the source of a lot of traumas. Sometimes he has a momentary panic when waking up in inns, but it usually dissipates quickly. The trigger is only tripped if it's someplace unfamiliar and he absolutely cannot remember bringing himself there. Mitigated somewhat if there's someone familiar there to make him more at-ease. Worst when it's wilderness, even remembering falling asleep there can't help sometimes.


• Harpies tbh


• He had a very traumatic experience with harpies during survival training okay :(


• Pakerion tobacco + hemlock


• His father smoked cigars made with a specific sort of tobacco grown only in Pakerion, and he did a lot of work with hemlock to create poisons. Those two smells separately are distasteful, but together they are triggering because they will instantly call his father to mind.


• Choking


• His father's preferred method to get him to shut up and listen. If it's happening to someone else, he'll forcibly try to stop it regardless of social propriety, and will try to avoid the perpetrator thereafter; it's uncomfortable to watch it happen to somebody else, but only triggering if he can't do anything about it (so, for example, having to watch it in a movie would trigger him, but having it happen in front of him would get him breaking it up).
  
  A hand or arm around his throat applying pressure can leave him nonfunctional for hours. He has had people trigger this by jokingly putting him in a headlock. Turtlenecks and touching his neck is fine, but once breath gets impaired, even to the slightest degree, the trigger goes off.
